Putting the overview away slid it out to the right by its own width, which carried it past the edge of the map and over the results panel: the locator sat on top of the list, half-transparent, with rows of features reading through it. The dock has been a column of its own since it was built precisely so nothing over the map could paint on it, and this was the one thing that still did. The map's column clips its contents now, so anything drawn over the map stays over the map. The corner's inset from the edge is named once, and the panel travels its own width plus that inset when it is put away -- so what is left on screen is the handle alone, flush with the edge of the map, which is what the gesture always meant.
